JEWISH HERITAGE MONTH PARTNER: RICHMOND HILL, ONTARIO
Richmond Hill is a fast-growing city of over 200,000 residents and is one of the key cities in York Region, north of Toronto. The city has become a key economic contributor to the Greater Toronto Area with such employers as BMW Canada, Rogers Communications and Staples hosting their corporate headquarters in Richmond Hill.
As of the 2021 Census, Richmond Hill has a Jewish population of about 6000. Considering neighbouring Thornhill is the largest population of Jews in Canada, the area is well served by kosher establishments as well as shuls for the community. The city’s Jewish population has the Richmond Hill Country Shul as well as the Beit Rayim Synagogue to rely upon for regular services and High Holidays.
We are grateful to Mayor David West for issuing a proclamation celebrating Jewish Heritage Month in Canada and for paying respects to the Jewish history in Richmond Hill.

La ville est devenue un contributeur économique clé de la région du Grand Toronto, avec des employeurs tels que BMW Canada, Rogers Communications et Staples qui ont installé leur siège social à Richmond Hill.
D’après le recensement de 2021, Richmond Hill compte une population juive d’environ 6 000 personnes.
