The Black Coalition of Quebec (BCQ) is a human rights organization dedicated to protecting the rights of black peoples in the province of Quebec. Formed in 1969, the organization works to combat racial profiling and discrimination and seek justice and equality for Quebec’s black population. They also offer a free legal clinic to help victims of discrimination and a Youth Employment Integration program to help Black youth find meaningful and gainful employment.
The current President, Max Stanley Bazin, sent B’nai Brith Canada the BCQ’s 2023 Proclamation, and we are grateful for their support of Jewish Heritage Month. We also note the many contributions that the BCQ’s past President, Dan Phillips, has made to the organization during his 40-year tenure as President.
La Ligue des Noirs du Québec (BCQ) est une organisation de défense des droits humains vouée à la protection des droits des personnes racialisés dans la province de Québec. Formé en 1969, l’organisme lutte contre le profilage racial et la discrimination et recherche la justice et l’égalité pour la population noire du Québec. Ils offrent également une clinique juridique gratuite pour aider les victimes de discrimination et un programme d’intégration à l’emploi des jeunes pour aider les jeunes noirs à trouver un emploi valorisant et rémunérateur.
Le président actuel, Max Stanley Bazin, a envoyé à B’nai Brith Canada la Proclamation 2023 de la BCQ, et nous sommes reconnaissants de leur soutien au Mois du patrimoine juif. Nous soulignons également les nombreuses contributions que l’ancien président de la BCQ, Dan Phillips, a apportées à l’organisation au cours de ses 40 ans de mandat à la présidence.
