MPP Ted Hsu is a distinguished Canadian, serving the Kingston area as a politician and as a physicist.
Fluent in English, French and Mandarin, MPP Hsu has been a resident of Kingston his entire life. He earned a BSc in physics from Queens and completed his PhD at Princeton University under the supervision of Nobel Prize winner Phillip W. Anderson.
Following his studies, MPP Hsu worked as a researcher and trader in Paris and Philadelphia and as executive director of the Tokyo office of Morgan Stanley.
MPP Hsu acted during this time as the treasurer of the Kingston & the Islands Federal Liberal association, becoming its candidate in 2011. He served in the Federal Parliament from 2011 to 2015.
Following a five-year hiatus from politics, MPP Hsu announced his intention to run for provincial legislature. He was elected to Queen’s Park in 2022.

Le député Ted Hsu est un Canadien distingué qui a servi la région de Kingston en tant que politique et physicien.
Parlant couramment l’anglais, le français et le mandarin, le député Hsu a vécu toute sa vie à Kingston. Il a obtenu une licence en physique à Queens et a passé son doctorat à l’université de Princeton sous la direction du lauréat du prix Nobel Phillip W. Anderson.
Après ses études, le député Hsu a travaillé comme chercheur et trader à Paris et à Philadelphie et comme directeur exécutif du bureau de Morgan Stanley à Tokyo.
Pendant cette période, le député Hsu a été trésorier de l’association libérale fédérale de Kingston et des Îles, dont il est devenu le candidat en 2011. Il a siégé au Parlement fédéral de 2011 à 2015.
Après une pause de cinq ans, le député Hsu a annoncé son intention de se présenter à l’assemblée législative provinciale. Il a été élu à Queen’s Park en 2022.
