Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Minister Jon Reyes has served the people of Winnipeg since 2016.
Minister Reyes spent 10 years in the Canadian Armed Forces, serving in the Communication Reserves and with the Royal Canadian Navy. After leaving the military, he pursued entrepreneurship and operated two small businesses alongside his wife.
In 2010, Minister Reyes founded the Manitoba Filipino Business Council, serving as its president until 2015.
During his time in office, Minister Reyes has held the titles of Minister of Economic Development & Jobs, Minsiter of Advanced Education, Skills & Training and, most recently, Minister of Labour & Immigration.
B’nai Brith thanks Minister Reyes for his support of Jewish Heritage Month in 2023 and for his involvement in the Manitoba government’s adoption of the IHRA definition of antisemitism in 2022.

Au cours de son mandat, le ministre Reyes a occupé les postes de ministre du Développement économique et de l’Emploi, de ministre de l’Enseignement supérieur, des Compétences et de la Formation et, plus récemment, de ministre du Travail et de l’Immigration.
B’nai Brith remercie le ministre Reyes pour son soutien au Mois du patrimoine juif en 2023 et pour sa participation à l’adoption par le gouvernement du Manitoba de la définition de l’antisémitisme de l’AIMH en 2022.
