JEWISH HERITAGE MONTH PARTNER: Etobicoke Centre
Born in Poland, Minister Surma immigrated with her family as a child to the Ottawa area.
She attended the University of Guelph, where she earned a degree in Public Policy & Administration. She spent a year in France studying Economics.
Following her studies, Minister Surma became involved in politics. She ran for Toronto City Council before winning the nomination for Etobicoke-Centre.
She was elected to Queen’s Park in 2018 and wasre-elected inn022.
B’nai Brith thanks Minister Surma for supporting Jewish Heritage Month and her involvement in a government that is actively involved in combating antisemitism in Ontario.
Née en Pologne, la ministre Surma a immigré avec sa famille dans la région d’Ottawa lorsqu’elle était enfant.
Elle a étudié à l’Université de Guelph, où elle a obtenu un diplôme en politique publique et en administration. Elle a passé une année en France pour étudier l’économie.
Après ses études, la ministre Surma s’est engagée dans la politique. Elle s’est présentée au conseil municipal de Toronto avant de remporter l’investiture pour Etobicoke-Centre.
Elle a été élue à Queen’s Park en 2018 et réélue en 2022.
B’nai Brith remercie la ministre Surma pour son soutien au Mois du patrimoine juif et son implication dans un gouvernement qui participe activement à la lutte contre l’antisémitisme en Ontario.
