JEWISH HERITAGE MONTH PARTNER: Dufferin-Caledon
MPP Sylvia Jones has been active in Ontario politics for over a decade and has served as MPP of Dufferin-Caledon since 2007.
She earned a diploma in radio broadcasting from Fanshawe College and was formerly the Executive Assistant for former PC Leader John Tory.
In the current government, MPP Jones serves as the Deputy Premier and Minister of Health. In that capcity, she has made significant contributions to Ontario’s health care system and was a key Minister in providing COVID-19 relief and support.
She previously served as the Solicitor General of Ontario and the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport.
We thank Minister Jones for her support of Jewish Heritage Month in 2023 and for being a part of a government that is leading the fight against antisemitism and hate in Canada.
La députée Sylvia Jones est active en politique ontarienne depuis plus de dix ans et est députée provinciale de Dufferin-Caledon depuis 2007.
Elle a obtenu un diplôme en radiodiffusion au Collège Fanshawe et a été l’adjointe exécutive de l’ancien chef du Parti progressiste-conservateur, John Tory.
Au sein du gouvernement actuel, la députée Jones est vice-première ministre et ministre de la santé. À ce titre, elle a apporté d’importantes contributions au système de santé de l’Ontario et a joué un rôle clé dans l’aide et le soutien apportés aux victimes du COVID-19.
Auparavant, elle a été solliciteur général de l’Ontario et ministre du tourisme, de la culture et du sport.
Nous remercions la ministre Jones pour son soutien au Mois du patrimoine juif en 2023 et pour sa participation à un gouvernement qui mène la lutte contre l’antisémitisme et la haine au Canada.
