JEWISH HERITAGE MONTH PARTNER: Don Valley North
Shelley Carroll was first elected to serve Don Valley North in 2003. After being re-elected five times, she has become a mainstay of the Toronto City Council.
As Chair of the Budget Committee, Councillor Carroll helped usher in four consecutive balanced budgets and delivered sound fiscal management to the City’s balance sheet.
Prior to her election to Council, Carroll was elected as a Toronto District School Board Trustee. Her hard work fighting for public education led to her being awarded the Golden Jubilee Medal.
B’nai Brith recognizes the significant contributions that Councilor Carroll has made to Toronto throughout her career. We thank her for supporting Jewish Heritage Month and for encouraging her constituents to join in the celebrations this May.
Shelley Carroll a été élue pour la première fois au conseil municipal de Don Valley North en 2003. Réélue cinq fois, elle est devenue un pilier du conseil municipal de Toronto.
En tant que présidente du Comité du budget, la conseillère Carroll a contribué à l’adoption de quatre budgets équilibrés consécutifs et a assuré une gestion financière saine du bilan de la ville.
Avant d’être élue au conseil municipal, Mme Carroll a été élue conseillère scolaire du district de Toronto. Son travail acharné en faveur de l’éducation publique lui a valu de recevoir la médaille du jubilé d’or.
