Sept. 11 Lawsuit Bill Offers Justice for Grieving Families

The United States Congress has formally passed the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act (JASTA) into law, which will allow the families and victims of terrorism, such as those of the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks, to bring legal action against state sponsors of terrorism.

As reported by the National Post, the Ontario Superior Court ordered the Government of Iran to pay approximately $13 million to victims of Iranian-sponsored terrorism on Thursday. If the decision is not appealed, it would mark a rare victory for terrorism survivors under Canada’s Justice for Victims of Terrorism Act.
