Today is the United Nations’ (UN) International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression, a day dedicated to acknowledging the pain suffered by children throughout the world who are the victims of physical, mental and emotional abuse.

This year, B’nai Brith Canada would like to focus attention on the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Hamas, and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), Iranian-supported terrorist groups that use children in their operations and who are publicly celebrated at Al-Quds Day rallies across Canada.

B’nai Brith is launching a NEW AND POWERFUL VIDEO today, highlighting the connection between the proxy terror organizations of Iran glorified at Al-Quds Day and the terrible abuse of children by those terrorists.

Last month, B’nai Brith launched a petition calling for a ban on Al-Quds day in Toronto, where crowds of participants have continually been captured chanting genocidal slogans, praising terrorists and creating a toxic environment in the city.

Inspired by the Iranian Ayatollah in 1979, these hateful rallies take place in cities across the world, giving platforms to anti-Israel advocates who routinely promote hate against the world’s only Jewish State and its residents.

“Today is the day where we recognize the unique pain and suffering experienced by children in armed conflict around the world and endeavor to end this horrific practice,” said Michael Mostyn, B’nai Brith Canada’s Chief Executive Officer. “It is shameful that public rallies glorifying terrorist organizations who abuse children as soldiers of war continue to be permitted.”

On August 19, 1982, the UN General Assembly resolved to commemorate the child victims of armed conflict on June 4 of each year. The work done in commemoration is directed by the Convention on the Rights of the Child, the most widely ratified international human rights treaty in history.
