B’nai Brith Canada Launches, Expands its Annual Diverse Minds Creative Writing Contest

B’nai Brith Canada is excited to announce the launch of its annual Diverse Minds creative writing contest for high school students.

The contest, which invites participants to submit their own illustrated, original children’s books containing messages on the values of diversity and inclusion, is in its third year in Manitoba and second in the Greater Montreal Area. This year, we are introducing the contest in Edmonton and Toronto.

Diverse Minds has quickly become one of B’nai Brith’s most popular programs and has helped bring people together for the mission of making the world a better place – for everyone.

In addition to various prizes, the winners will have their books professionally published and distributed to libraries and schools in their respective regions. The finalists also will be invited to attend a special awards ceremony, where they will be honoured for their accomplishments.

We are thrilled to have expanded this exciting contest and we look forward to announcing who our judges will be. We look forward as well to reading the students’ books. Many of the previous student writers have absolutely dazzled us with their prose!

The deadline for book submissions is April 9, 2021.

Since 1875, B’nai Brith has led the fight for human rights and equality in Canada – and we are proud to constantly be promoting that cause in new and exciting ways.
