MISSISSAUGA, Ont. – B’nai Brith Canada is urging an event venue to cancel the scheduled appearance of two American speakers with a history of promoting violent incitement against Israel and Jews.

In a letter to Renaissance by the Creek in Mississauga, Ont., B’nai Brith expressed concern about a planned “Voices for Gaza” event organized by a group billing itself as “Action for Humanity Canada.”  The panel is set to feature prominent anti-Israel agitator Sean King and controversial comedian Amer Zahr. The gathering is presented as an opportunity to “raise awareness” about the humanitarian situation in the Gaza strip and “raise critical funds” for Palestinians.

Zahr and King have in the past publicly praised terrorist organizations such as Hamas and Hezbollah. Since Hamas’ brutal Oct. 7, 2023 terrorist attacks on Israel, both have repeatedly engaged in Holocaust distortion by comparing Zionism to Nazism.

B’nai Brith has previously spoken out against Zahr’s inflammatory rhetoric, which has included support for Leila Khaled, a terrorist affiliated with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), a listed terror entity in Canada, who participated in the 1969 hijacking of TWA Flight 840 and 1970 attack on El Al Flight 219. In 2017, Zahr even posted a video urging anti-Israel activists not to condemn antisemitism.

“No upstanding Canadian business should allow itself to be associated with individuals who celebrate the actions of terrorists,” said Richard Robertson, B’nai Brith Canada’s Director of Research and Advocacy. “There is legitimate reason to believe this event will promote extremist views and incite hatred against members of the Jewish community.”
