OTTAWA – Samidoun, a radical anti-Israel group listed as a terrorist entity in Canada, has continued to operate a federally-incorporated not-for-profit corporation for months in spite of its designation, according to a national letter-writing campaign B’nai Brith Canada launched Thursday.
“It is incomprehensible that a listed terrorist organization can continue to operate a corporation in this country,” said Richard Robertson, B’nai Brith Canada’s Director of Research and Advocacy. “By declining to dissolve Samidoun’s corporation, the Government has, in effect, allowed terrorists to avail themselves of the legitimacy of corporate status while continuing to sow hatred and incite violence.”
In the wake of Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023, massacres in Israel, B’nai Brith Canada ramped up its years-long effort for the Federal Government to act against Samidoun. In October 2024, Ottawa finally added the group to its list of designated terrorist entities, citing its links to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).
As part of its latest campaign, B’nai Brith Canada is asking members of the public to submit letters to Corporations Canada insisting that it take the over-due step of dissolving Samidoun’s corporate status once and for all.
