B’nai Brith Canada Commends Government Condemning Remarks by Abbas

B’nai Brith Canada applauds the office of Canadian Foreign Minister Stephane Dion for its condemnation of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’s medieval antisemitic remarks.

Abbas’s malicious allegations  that rabbis demanded the government to poison Palestinian walls harken back to hundreds of years of blood libels used to demonize and physically attack Jews.

“Abbas is purposely inflaming tensions by utilizing antisemitic canards to incite violence against Jews,” said Michael Mostyn, CEO of B’nai Brith Canada. “While tensions are high in Israel with clashes between Jewish and Muslim worshippers on the Temple Mount, it was particularly appalling that Abbas was applauded by representatives of these many nations.

“B’nai Brith Canada is proud of Canadian officials’ morality in this regard and of their principled stance as they refuse to condone the Palestinian authorities’ vilification of Jews.”
