B’nai Brith Canada Celebrates Small Towns, Big Stories

B’nai Brith Canada community members enjoying a walking tour of Midland, Ontario.

TORONTO – More than 200 people recently joined B’nai Brith Canada in Midland, Ont., for a day of learning.

The topic of discussion: Jewish and Indigenous contributions to small towns, particularly Midland. The trip consisted of a walking tour of the main downtown core of Midland, a wonderful kosher lunch, a visit to the Huronia Museum, musical performances by a Klezmer band and wonderful oratories by important community stakeholders.

Overall, this trip was very successful in showcasing Canadian Jewry. We look forward to coordinating and planning future events that continue to bring to light more of the untold-yet-inspiring stories of positive Jewish contributions in the most unlikely places across the country.
