Welcoming Marvin Rotrand – New National Director of the League of Human Rights

For the first time in 40 years, Marvin Rotrand’s name was not on the ballot paper for Montreal’s municipal elections. The longest-serving councillor, who represented the Snowdon district for 39 years under eight different mayors, has left city politics for a new position. As National Director of B’nai Brith’s League of Human Rights, he is responsible for fighting antisemitism and other forms of hatred and for advancing advocacy. His extensive contacts at all three levels of government and his record of defending civil rights and building alliances between various communities will be a real asset for our organization, according to Michael Mostyn, CEO of B’nai Brith Canada.
