Born in Toronto in 1984 to a Russian Jewish family, MP Melissa Lantsman has worked for many years at all levels of government.
Lantsman worked as a communications advisor to several ministers in the Stephen Harper government. She was a senior advisor to the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario and its chief spokesperson during the 2018 Ontario provincial election.
Following the 2018 election, she joined Hill+Knowlton Strategies and later joined Enterprise Canada as the Vice President for National Public Affairs.
In 2021, Lantsman was elected as MP for Thornhill, a riding where Jews comprise 37% of the population.
MP Lantsman is the first Jewish woman to be elected as a Conservative MP and has been a staunch advocate for Canadian Jewry.

Elle a été conseillère en communication auprès de plusieurs ministres du gouvernement de Stephen Harper. Elle a été conseillère principale du Parti progressiste-conservateur de l’Ontario et sa principale porte-parole lors des élections provinciales de 2018.
Après l’élection de 2018, elle a rejoint Hill+Knowlton Strategies, puis Enterprise Canada en tant que vice-présidente des affaires publiques nationales.
En 2021, Mme Lantsman a été élue députée de Thornhill, une circonscription où les Juifs représentent 37% de la population.
La députée Lantsman est la première femme juive à être élue députée conservatrice et a été un fervent défenseur des Juifs canadiens.
