The child of Filipino immigrants, Darlington City Councilor Stephanie Valenzuela was born and raised in her borough of Cote-des-Neiges.
Being a first-generation Filipino-Canadian, Councilor Valenzeula understands the importance of diversity and representation in her community. Throughout her youth, she contributed to her local community organizations and fostered strong relationships that last to this day.
A graduate of McGill with a degree in political science and international relations, she has a background in non-profit organizations and community initiatives. She worked in Mexico for an NGO dedicated to helping the children of the area.
Through these experiences, Councilor Valenzuela developed the skills necessary to be an effective community leader and advocate in her current role as Councilor for Darlington.
With a large Jewish population in her district, Councilor Valenzuela has developed ties and relationships to those Jewish organizations and community leaders that represent her Jewish constituents.

En tant que Canadienne d’origine philippine de première génération, la conseillère Valenzeula comprend l’importance de la diversité et de la représentation au sein de sa communauté. Tout au long de sa jeunesse, elle a contribué aux organisations communautaires locales et a tissé des liens solides qui perdurent encore aujourd’hui.
Diplômée de McGill en sciences politiques et relations internationales, elle a une expérience des organisations à but non lucratif et des initiatives communautaires. Elle a travaillé au Mexique pour une ONG qui se consacre à l’aide aux enfants de la région.
Grâce à ces expériences, la conseillère Valenzuela a acquis les compétences nécessaires pour être un leader et un défenseur efficace de la communauté dans son rôle actuel de conseillère de Darlington.
Avec une population juive importante dans son district, la Conseillère Valenzuela a développé des liens et des relations avec les organisations juives et les leaders de la communauté qui représentent ses électeurs juifs.
