Organized by the National Holocaust Monument Committee, the 2025 ceremony marks the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi concentration and death camp, which oversaw the systematic murder of over one million Jews.\nThis year, Holocaust Remembrance Day arrives at a particularly poignant and timely moment, given the disturbing rise of antisemitism in Canada and B’nai Brith’s Canada’s ongoing efforts to combat it—including our recently released petition to ban the public display of the Nazi swastika and other Nazi symbols nationwide.
