B’NAI BRITH LEADERSHIP GOING TO ISRAEL

 

Toronto, April 8, 2002

In the wake of the dramatic events that are unfolding in Israel, concerned with universal condemnation of the current Israeli military action, Operation Defensive Shield against the Palestinian terrorist bases in the Palestinian Authority, the B’nai Brith Canada leadership, Rochelle Wilner — President and Frank Dimant — Executive Vice President, will be travelling to Israel on Sunday for consultations with the Israeli government.

Rochelle Wilner President of B’nai Brith Canada said the “It is incumbent upon the universal Jewish leadership to go to Israel NOW and find out first hand what they can do to assist Israel in their struggle against Palestinian terror.”

Frank Dimant — Executive Vice President expressed his concern: “While Israel is facing overwhelming challenges, and involved in a battle to eradicate Palestinian terror, the leaders of the Canadian Jewish community must be sure to express our support for Israel and ask what we can do to help Israel.”

We invite representatives of the media to join Ms. Wilner and Mr. Dimant when they visit victims of terror in Israel.
