NEW B’NAI BRITH CANADA PRESIDENT SEEKS APOLOGY FROM MP

Ottawa, May 9, 2001… Rochelle Wilner, in her first official visit as President to the nation’s capital to meet high-ranking Canadian officials, commented on MP Andrew Telegdi’s question period remarks: “While Mr. Telegdi’s statement in the Commons today is a good beginning, we look forward to him apologizing to B’nai Brith Canada for misrepresenting our decades-long struggle to bring to justice those who have lied about their wartime pasts to gain entry and later citizenship to this country.”
