Antisemite Mullins Scheduled for B.C. Festival

B’nai Brith Canada Calls For Organizers to Cancel Speaker

May 7, 2001

For Immediate Release

Toronto… (May 7, 2001) B’nai Brith Canada was dismayed to learn that Eustace Mullins would be speaking at a British Columbia ’new age’ festival in August of this year. Mullins is known for his antisemitic conspiracy theories and his published Holocaust denial and pro-Nazi tracts.

“When will people learn that Mullins is not selling truth,” stated Rochelle Wilner, President of B’nai Brith Canada referring to the festival organizers invitation to all "truth-seekers" to attend Mullins’ speeches. “He is selling hatred towards Jews barely hidden in his far-fetched conspiracy fantasies and he certainly does not promote the cause of enlightenment as put forward by those that invited him to speak. Canada should not allow such a hate-monger to speak in this country.”

“When people invite speakers to their events, they should be careful that they are not just giving a platform to those espousing hatred,” advised Frank Dimant, Executive Vice-President of B’nai Brith Canada. “If they already knew that Mullins was such a speaker, we must wonder why these organizers persist in promoting this individual.” The festival organizers, the Preferred Network, runs a mail-order internet site which was shut down when it became evident that they were selling work labeled as hate propaganda by Canada Customs. The prohibited books included works by Mullins. Mullins also has his antisemitic views quoted on racist websites such as www.whiteracist.com and www.stormfront.org (the White Nationalist webpage).
