For Immediate Release
Toronto, January 16, 2001... B'nai Brith Canada has set up a special relief fund, as a joint initiative of its Institute for International Affairs and Centre for Community Action, to respond to the crushing needs of the survivors of the recent earthquake in the Salvadorian and Guatemalan states. As these countries struggle to deal with the overwhelming proportions of this human tragedy, the B'nai Brith Canada disaster relief fund will help to direct the aid of concerned Canadians to those most in need at this critical time.
Contributions can be sent to the B'nai Brith Canada Humanitarian Earthquake Relief Fund at 15 Hove Street, Toronto, Ontario M3H 4Y8, with cheques marked Central American Earthquake, or pledges can be made by calling (416) 633-6224 ext. 110 and out side Toronto 1-800-892-2624.
This fund was established to assist countries and regions that have experienced disaster.
