On Tuesday, October 21, 2003, more than 1000 of Canada’s leading business executives, politicians and community leaders will gather at Toronto’s Sheraton Centre to pay tribute to Tony Comper, Chairman and CEO, BMO Financial Group. B’nai Brith will present Mr. Comper with its prestigious Award of Merit which is the organization’s highest honour that recognizes people who have greatly contributed to the business, political, social academic or cultural leadership of Canada. Given his community involvement and his many philanthropic activities, Mr. Comper is most deserving of this award. He joins an eminent group of Award of Merit recipients, who include, Ted Rogers, Tony Fell, Charles Baillie, Wallace McCain, Red Wilson, Paul Godfrey, Peter Godsoe, Paul Martin and Paul Tellier.

Mr. Comper is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of BMO Financial Group. He was appointed CEO in February 1999 and Chairman in July 1999. In three decades with the bank, he has served in virtually all its major operating areas.
