B’nai Brith Canada congratulates Aboriginal community on International Day of the World’s Indigenous People
TORONTO, August 7, 2009 – B’nai Brith Canada wishes to extend its congratulations to the Aboriginal community on International Day of the World’s Indigenous People which takes place on August 9th.
“We extend our warm congratulations and our best wishes to the Aboriginal community on International Day of the World’s Indigenous People,” said Frank Dimant, Executive Vice President of B’nai Brith Canada. “We have always had a positive and fruitful relationship with our Aboriginal friends and look forward to furthering that relationship in the times to come.
“Recently, we had the opportunity of yet again visiting a Canadian reserve and personally observing the deprived conditions in which the Aboriginal community live. We have always encouraged the Government to direct much-needed funding to Aboriginal communities for water and infrastructure upgrades, as well as educational initiatives.
“We look forward to continuing our great work with the Aboriginal community and to strengthening the strong bonds that exist between our communities.”
