B’nai Brith Canada was proud to present a Certificate of Recognition to the City of Côte Saint-Luc for its dedication to fighting against racism, antisemitism and discrimination on June 12, 2017.
B’nai Brith Canada’s Quebec Region as well as the B’nai Brith House and the under-construction Chateau B’nai Brith affordable housing facilities are all located in Côte Saint-Luc.
“There has been tremendous cooperation between B’nai Brith and the city of Côte Saint-Luc,” said Eric Bissell, Lifetime honourary president of B’nai Brith Canada.
While B’nai Brith Canada’s 2016 Audit of Antisemitic Incidents yielded a record-high 1,728 recorded incidents, Côte Saint-Luc, which contains the second-highest Jewish population in Canada (behind Thornhill, Ont.), has a much lower amount of incidents compared to other cities in Quebec.
“Côte Saint-Luc has an outstanding police under Commander Jean O’Malley who very diligently protect us,” said Harvey Levine, B’nai Brith Canada’s Quebec Region Director. “We’re thankful to the public security force and the incredible V-COPS always patrolling our neighbourhoods and the zero tolerance for discrimination they have in the city.”
“I’m very proud of our safety record at Côte Saint-Luc and our relationship with B’nai Brith,” said Mitchell Brownstein, Côte Saint-Luc Mayor. “We are so proud to have both the B’nai Brith House and the new resience in Côte Saint-Luc. We have people who are aging and they want to stay in Côte Saint-Luc. To have subsidized seniors’ homes is of such importance and ensure the best quality of life for the people of Côte Saint-Luc.”

Le 12 juin, 2017, B’nai Brith Canada était fière de présenter un certificat de reconnaissance à la Ville de Côte Saint-Luc pour son dévouement à la lutte contre le racisme, l’antisémitisme et la discrimination.
B’nai Brith Canada région du Québec, ainsi que nos installations de logements abordables ; la Résidence B’nai Brith et notre sous-construction actuelle, le Chateau B’nai Brith sont tous situés à Côte Saint-Luc. « Il y a eu une coopération formidable entre B’nai Brith et la ville de Côte Saint-Luc », a déclaré Eric Bissell, président honoraire à vie de B’nai Brith Canada.
Tandis que l’Audit des incidents antisémites de B’nai Brith Canada de 2016 a enregistré un nombre record de 1 728 incidents signalés, Côte Saint-Luc, qui possède la deuxième plus grande population juive au Canada (derrière Thornhill, en Ontario), a eu un beaucoup moins d’incidents par rapport aux autres villes au Québec.
« Côte Saint-Luc a des policiers exceptionnels sous le commandant Jean O’Malley qui nous protège très soigneusement », a déclaré Harvey Levine, directeur régional de B’nai Brith Canada-Québec. « Nous remercions la force de sécurité publique et les incroyables V-COPS qui patrouillent toujours dans nos quartiers et pour la tolérance zéro qu’ils ont pour discrimination dans la ville »

Nous avons des gens qui vieillissent et veulent rester à Côte Saint-Luc. Pour avoir subventionné des résidences pour les aînés est d’une telle importance et d’assurer la meilleure qualité de vie pour les gens de Côte Saint-Luc. »
