B'nai Brith Canada is pleased to announce the appointment of Ryan Bellerose to our newly created position of Advocacy Coordinator for Western Canada.
Based in Calgary, Ryan has been tasked to help re-energize the B'nai Brith presence throughout Western Canada, and will regularly visit communities across Alberta and B.C.
Ryan Bellerose is a Métis human rights and pro-Israel advocate from Northern Alberta. His father, Mervin Bellerose, co-authored the Métis Settlements Act of 1989, which was passed by the Alberta legislature in 1990 and cemented land rights for Métis in Canada. Ryan founded Canadians For Accountability, a Native rights advocacy group, and is also a founding member of the Calgary United with Israel (CUWI) organization. Ryan is a passionate Zionist.
"We are very excited by the energy and experience that Ryan brings to this role," said Michael Mostyn, CEO of B'nai Brith Canada. "His extensive history as an advocate not only for the Jewish community but for many diverse causes and communities here at home and in Israel will be a tremendous asset as we work to strengthen the human rights initiatives of B'nai Brith in Western Canada. Welcome aboard Ryan."
