TORONTO – Pastor John Hagee, founder of John Hagee Ministries and Senior Pastor of Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, TX, is considered one of the most influential Evangelical Christian leaders in the world. His support for Israel and the Jewish people has been well-noted with his creation of Christians United For Israel, an organization that stands in the forefront of advocating on behalf of Israel and the Jewish people, primarily in the United States but also most recently in Canada where the organization is spearheaded by Dr. Charles McVety, president of Canada Christian College.

In a dramatic announcement this week, Pastor John Hagee indicated that he will be presenting an additional $9.5 million of support to the Jewish state at a time when there is serious concern that support for Israel and Jewish causes may be on the wane resulting from economically difficult times. This is but one further gesture of Hagee’s to manifest his blessings on the people of Israel.

In Canada, Carol and Jack Klemke, two prominent Evangelical leaders in Alberta, will be honoured by B’nai Brith Canada on Sunday, Nov. 2 at which time the Carol and Jack Klemke Jewish-Christian Round Table Endowment will be inaugurated. This endowment will provide a broad forum for deepening Christian understanding for Judaism, Zionism and the modern state of Israel through educational and cultural outreach programs. The Klemke Endowment will prepare the groundwork for joining Jewish and Christian initiatives across the country to introduce both national and regional projects and programming, and it will provide the Christian community with a speakers bureau specifically geared to their needs and interests that will include experts in the field of modern Israel to better build friendships and ties between the two communities.

Joe Bogoroch, national president of B’nai Brith Canada, stated that the generosity of the Klemkes and their friends is a mark of the true blessings that the Christian community wishes to place upon the Jewish people with the aim of fulfilling the Biblical edicts and working in tandem with those who stand united in support of Israel.

The Carol and Jack Klemke Jewish-Christian Round Table will be an integral part of the B’nai Brith Canada Human Rights Centre in honour of Prime Minister Stephen Harper, which was established in June this year.
